The Serpa holster and other trigger-finger manipulated retention holsters are not good choices. As Ron and I have pointed out to students, the Serpa is a flawed design and we ban it from classes. If you want a holster with something other than friction retention, have a look at Safariland’s ALS and GLS designs–both are much safer and intuitive. Ron likes the ALS, I’ve become a fan of the GLS. And they’re priced right!
